- Act: execute via workflows and AI agents (voice/chat/WhatsApp/email + internal tools)
By connecting internal business data with external signals, OptiComm.AI helps retailers, distributors, and manufacturers anticipate demand before it happens, recover lost orders, increase retention, and cut waste.
We already have working live customers, a strong pipeline and an ambitious roadmap. Now we’re adding a Head of AI Engineering to scale both: our predictive engine and our agentic execution platform.
THE ROLE:
As Head of AI Engineering, you will lead the technical execution of our AI engine end-to-end, from data foundations and ML models to agent orchestration, reliability, and enterprise-grade deployment.
This is not a classic, old-school CTO role. It’s a builder-leader role: hands-on where it matters, strategic where it counts, and deeply connected to business outcomes.
WHAT YOU’LL OWN:
1) Predictive Intelligence at scale
- Own the architecture for forecasting and next-order prediction: data → features → models → evaluations.
- Improve accuracy and business impact through experimentation, validation, and continuous learning.
- Integrate external signals (weather, macro, events, demographics) to increase predictive power.
2) Decision Layer: Turning Signals into Prioritized Actions
- Build the “decision engine” that converts predictions into next best actions for sales/marketing/ops.
- Define how we measure impact: uplift, conversion, churn reduction, revenue recovery, waste reduction.
3) Agentic Execution: The “Act” Layer
- Lead the engineering of our agentic platform: LLM-driven agents that can execute workflows via tools, APIs, and channels (voice/chat/WhatsApp/email).
- Design agent patterns: tool use, memory, safety/guardrails, evaluation, escalation to humans, and enterprise-ready auditing.
- Ensure agents remain reliable and deterministic enough to operate in real business environments.
4) Production, Reliability, and MLOps/LLMOps
- Standardize deployment, monitoring, and lifecycle management for ML models and agents.
- Build observability: drift, quality metrics, hallucination risk controls, latency, failure modes, and rollback strategies.
- Raise engineering quality: testing, code standards, security basics, incident readiness.
5) Team Leadership
- Mentor and grow ML/data/software engineers; define team structure, hiring plan, and delivery rhythm.
- Build a culture of speed + craftsmanship + measurable outcomes.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
Proven leadership + delivery
- 5+ years in software/AI engineering with ownership of production systems.
- Experience leading teams or acting as a strong technical lead (staff/principal/founding engineer counts).
- Track record of raising execution quality and shipping systems that scale.
Strong AI + engineering depth
- Hands-on ML experience (forecasting/time series, predictive modeling, anomaly detection).
- Strong Python; familiarity with PyTorch / scikit-learn.
- Solid system design and engineering fundamentals.
Agentic / applied LLM mindset (important)
- Experience building with LLMs in production or strong evidence you can own this space quickly.
- Understanding of tool-using agents, workflow orchestration, evaluation, safety/guardrails, and human-in-the-loop patterns.
Modern way of working
- High ownership, fast iteration, clear communication, pragmatic execution.
NICE TO HAVE:
- Retail / FMCG / distribution / logistics / supply-chain experience.
- Cloud + data platforms (Azure / Microsoft Fabric / AWS / GCP; data lakes; distributed compute).
- Experience with agent frameworks, voice agents, multi-channel automation, or decision intelligence.
- Enterprise delivery experience (integrations, SLAs, governance).
